Knowing or at least surmising when a bird will take off takes patience and judgement. Once again sunset enhances the scene. sku 70005

This was my first ever sighting and first ever photograph of a greenfinch. He seems to have an angry face or maybe its just a determined expression. I love his wing shape and his greenish gold feathers. gb10011

A more outstretched and elegant landing approach with wings aimed towards the back of the greenfinch. gb10012

The greenfinch is a very secretive bird. He hides in the trees most of the time. I have only seen him rarely in my journeys to the countryside to photograph garden birds. The finch family are a majestic and colourful family of birds. gb10013
