Depth of field is one of those enduring photographic terms. It means restricting the amount of subject in focus. In this case it was the face of the squirrel as his tail blurs into the background. sku SQ10005

This the "full crop of the previous image and it allows the viewer to see the both sides of the tree trunk and puts the squirrel in dead centre. sku SQ10006

A side stance frozen in time as the squirrel stops his climb as he sees me approach. sku SQ10007

This is a sweet photo with the squirrel stopping in the V shape of the tree and resting his paws on the tree. He looks calm and curious. sku SQ10008

I was happy with the two tree trunks in this photo and the forest in the blurry background. I also liked his outstretched paws as he looked to camera. sku SQ10009

A slightly overhead view of the squirrel as he looked down at me after he finished his peanuts which someone had given him. sku SQ10010

I was pleased with the leave shapes which surround the squirrel as he walked along this branch. sku SQ10011

The tree trunk had a great colour and texture so I made it a large percentage of the photo and the squirrel scratching his belly as he looked to camera. sku SQ10012

This is a lovely U Shaped tree trunk which the squirrel decided to take a rest before moving on - which he did a second after the photo. sku SQ10013

This owl has very dark eyes indeed. I managed to get the photo as he turned to the light and held all the detail in his feathers. sku OWL10007

Deep deep deep orange eyes with a lovely faun coloured plumage. A real character. sku OWL10008

Last but not least at the moment of photographing owls - he reminds me of the cartoon owls. What a stare ! sku OWL10013

These little creatures are about a month old. They are all looking out to mum and dad who are just outside their little house.
