Having photographed a mandarin in this exact same spot in December 2015 – I went back six months later as if by premonition. The premonition came true as another male mandarin flew in and stood directly opposite where the other one had stood six months before.
This time the mandarin stood on the left side of my frame and instead of a rainy day – it was a sunny day with the green of the trees reflected in the waters.
It was a stark opposite – a heads to a tails of the photo taken in the same place six months previously.
