Butterflies come in so many colours and so many patterns. Over several butterfly photography days I had recorded nearly one hundred species of butterflies. As with other photography that I do its the background that makes or breaks a photo.
The viewer is first amazed at the intricate patterns and red and oranges of this iconic little creature. The striped pattern of the butterfly is echoed in the striped patterns of the leaves in the background. The monochrome of the green means that there are no distractions to the beauty of the photo subject.
